Coexisting Tastes Through Additive Operations
This villa is planned for a scenic site in the southern region of Kanagawa Prefecture. The client, who travels extensively around the world, brought forth a collection of spatial memories—each reflecting distinct architectural experiences—without attempting to unify them. In response, we deliberately adopted a composition that allows these disparate architectural languages and tastes to coexist additively. Rather than resolving them into a single, reductive language or resorting to arbitrary collage, the project seeks to explore a multilayered architectural expression grounded in deliberate juxtaposition.
