A Residence of Coexisting Dualities
This 880 sqm residence is sited along the Namerigawa River, between two contrasting contexts: a dense urban neighborhood to the northwest and a spacious river landscape to the southeast. The design envisions a segmented, gabled, and lattice-faced volume toward the townscape, and an open, horizontal composition toward the river. Rather than seeking mediating neutrality, the architecture deliberately embraces the ambivalence between these two fronts, allowing their opposing characteristics to coexist in tension.
